Samantha's friends reached out to me saying they wanted to do something special for her. She turns 30 on Halloween and to commemorate it, they wanted to gift her a witchy session. This had me so excited. I am all about theme type of sessions like this.
We spent a long time working out the details, had to delay the date a couple times, but finally got it nailed down. And then when we went to the park where these would take place we learned that it was closed. So we had to find a last minute location which threw me way off.
When a session is booked with me, I map out what images I would like to capture at each spot. Ya, often times I get inspiration in the moment and don't follow the map completely, but it's great to have an idea of how the session should go so I look like I know what I'm doing, ha. So, I felt way off my game once I learned that the park we were planning on using was closed.
Luckily the park we switched to had the same look as the original, well mostly. The sunset was amazing and the blue hour (thats the part of the day after the golden hour when the sun dips below the horizon line) was beautiful with amazing colors still and the sky and a super visible crescent moon! And what's a witchy session without a few candles. Every time we lit the candle, Samantha's friends seranaded her with a "happy birthday to yooouuuu" lol.
We ended the session in the water and was surprisingly warmer than we expected. Even though the beginning started a little rocky for me, it turned into an amazingly beautiful witchy session. Happy Birthday Sam!
