I had the honor of photographing the beautiful fall wedding of Lane and Kacey. Yes we have had cooler weather lately, but the temperature that Saturday was not very "fall" like. Both Ceremony and Reception was held at Baker Street Station. I arrived before the Bridal party and was able to get some detail shots of the beautiful fall decor. And omg, the lighting coming in from the giant windows was absolutely gorgeous!!
They did an amazing job at creating an itinerary for the day and a very organized shot list (which made my job so much easier!) The Bride and Groom decided they were not going to see each other before the ceremony but do a first touch. So the boys arrived to the venue first for their pre ceremony pics with the girls arriving about an hour later for their turn. If you have ever been to Baker Street, you know that there are so many beautiful areas that make an amazing backdrop and the sun was in the most perfect spot behind the historical train station for an occasional sun flare. The bridge for the train tracks has such great texture and with the road was not terribly busy. We decided that the Beatles "Abbey Road" album recreation was a must!
Once we got all the images we could before the ceremony started, Lane and Kacey wanted to have a quiet moment for a "first touch" and to exchange letters they wrote for each other. We found a beautiful quiet corner for them to take a deep breath together before presenting themselves to friends and family.
The ceremony went amazingly..... umm, I mean other than the groom losing his printed vows only to find them later in his coat pocket, oops. Their rings were carried in by their sweet puppers, Jazz, and the bridal party all looked perfect in their green attire (one of my favorite colors!)
After the ceremony, the rest their family and bridal party images were captured. Then Lane Kacey and I jumped into their truck and drove a short distance to Headwaters park for their bridal portraits. The trees lining the sidewalk were turning a beautiful color and made a perfect backdrop for their fall theme. Oh, and did you know, when you walk with someone wearing a wedding gown near a busy road, everyone honks and yells congratulations out their car windows?
Back at the reception hall, Kacey got her bustle in place and then bridal party entered the room exactly like the Purple Cobras from the movie Dodge Ball. The Bride and Groom went straight into their first dance where Lane spun Kacey around and ended with a dip.
The food and cake was delicious, toasts were sweet, and the dancing was so much fun. If you look through the album, you might wonder why there were owls in tuxedos on the dance floor. I was informed this was a tradition, those owls go to every wedding with the officiant and are always a huge hit with guests. The rest of night everyone danced and laughed showing just how much love they have for Lane and Kacey.
